Method

Base flavours:

  • Heat olive oil in a large pan.
  • Sauté onion, carrot, and celery gently for 8–10 minutes until softened and sweet.

Build the sauce:

  • Stir in garlic, then add the mince. Cook until browned all over.
  • Stir in tomato purée and cook for 2 minutes.
  • Add chopped tomatoes, stock (or wine), herbs, salt and pepper.
  • Bring to a boil, then reduce to a gentle simmer.
  • Cook low & slow: simmer uncovered for 35–40 minutes, stirring occasionally, until thick and rich. Add extra stock/water if needed.

Finish

  • Take off the heat and stir in SUCSEED Energy for a subtle boost of fibre, plant protein, omega 3 and multiple phytonutrients. (A great way to get more goodness into the kids without them knowing!)
  • Taste and adjust seasoning. Top with fresh parsley or basil before serving.

Serving Ideas

  • Toss with wholegrain pasta or spaghetti.
  • Serve over courgetti (spiralised courgette) for a lighter option.
  • Save leftovers — this freezes beautifully.
